Abstract

Local and national competition for MSMEs demands that business actors maintain their businesses in order to compete. Giriloyo hand-written batik craftsmen are one of the MSMEs in Bantul, Yogyakarta whose main product is hand-written batik. Understanding financial literacy is one of the supporting factors for MSMEs, especially batik craftsmen write in Giriloyo Bantul to maintain their business. Financial literacy training and assistance for Giriloyo Bantul batik craftsmen is one solution in increasing understanding of financial literacy for business actors in maintaining the continuity of their business.


The service method is carried out by field surveys, socialization by implementing training and mentoring in the form of discussions and introducing accounting system applications with 15 UMKM Giriloyo Bantul hand-written batik craftsmen and conducting evaluations as feedback on the success of this community service activity.


The results of the field survey showed that 73% of Giriloyo batik craftsmen had not carried out bookkeeping in their business due to limited knowledge and human resources. After providing assistance and financial literacy training, 62% of Giriloyo batik craftsmen carried out bookkeeping of their business financial transactions using the accounting application that had been taught by the community service.
